hirmaa: A Case Study


HIRMAA is the voice for Australia's members owned private health insurance funds. The business lobbies Government, conducts targeted industry research, has a strong network of industry resources and hosts regular and exclusive annual events on behalf of its members. HIRMAA is committed to providing excellence in customer service and delivering products that provide true value for money.


The Task

HIRMAA approached The Digital Embassy to redevelop their current website and associated content & architecture with the goal of applying contemporary new mobile friendly design styling.

The new site is to act as a critical touch point and vehicle for core activities such as raising brand awareness, providing an interface between HIRMAA and the funds it represents, providing information & resources to help the member funds it represents (including media release and Government submissions) and facilitating fund engagement & contact enquiries.

The new site will also introduce a member login area allowing for personalisation and access to individual account information & details pertaining to the individual memberships.


Our approach

Utilising the newly developed brand guidelines, a hero colour palette was decided upon to reflect these guidelines but maintain a tonality of professionalism with a hint of playfullness.

The website was developed on the WordPress CMS platform to give the greatest flexibility to the site's dynamics whilst providing an easy-to-operate back end for client management. The site is, as always with our web designs, completely responsive based on breakpoints for tablets and mobile devices.


The Results

Having completed a Content Planning Session with The Digital Embassy, new hierarchy for the hero navigational items was created to help channel users of the new website along the path of discovery about HIRMAA.

The website has taken on a far more visual appearance with full screen imagery helping to break the content into scannable and digestable elements. The contact page contains a cleaner and easy-to-use contact form and incorporates a google map of the business location as well as an opt-in for the company newsletter CRM database.


A dedicated login page is complete with individual user/password requirements as well as registration details for new member sign ups - all manageable via the WordPress backend and the ability to link to an account with a CRM provider in the future for easy ongoing contact.

Social media links are created for easy sharing across Facebook and Twitter plus the entire website is optimised for searches on Health and Private Health Insurance.
