If you promote online, you will know just how important it is to engage your audience. The wrong messages and you will find that your audience will quickly move on. Is it better to place your enquiry form on the side or bottom of a page? Is it better to use the words “Let’s Talk” rather than “Act now” on a button?

These are all questions which can be answered with by experimenting – A/B Split testing

A/B split testing is a methodical approach used in promotional activities. Experiments are commonly conducted in web development and online marketing, using two variants, Group A and Group B. If you present variants of your promotional messages to different groups, you may find that Group A may engage better than Group B.

A/B Testing

As you can see, this is a process which can be refined indefinitely, and so can be quite time consuming. This is where the Kentico Content Management System (CMS) differentiates itself from common CMS platforms.

Unlike CMS systems like WordPress, Kentico gives a web author the ability to develop variant pages which are chosen at random initially. Over a period of time, as visitors interact with the site, Kentico automatically biases towards the most successful page. Along the way, it builds a history of this data so it can be analysed.
