South Australian Employment Tribunal

Developed website for the new dispute resolution forum for South Australia's Return to Work Scheme.

The Task

The Digital Embassy was appointed to the project off the excellent work done with another division of the Attorney General’s Department – The Nuclear Fuel Cycle Royal Commission. The SAET did not have an existing site to call their own so the project was considered a clean slate opportunity from both a design and functionality perspective.

The site had some specific requirements apart from the normal information to share about the body in general. There was a need to display upcoming hearing data that would change daily, numerous document displays and downloads as well as links to other related bodies and electronic application lodgements & forms.

The design would be created by an external company and implemented by The Digital Embassy. Style sheets would also need to be created and shared with other external resources to allow online forms to be created in the same style as the website for continuity.

Our Approach & Results

After initial meetings with the SAET project team and the external design firm, The Digital Embassy built wireframes off the back of the initial designs. Upon analysis of those designs, The Digital Embassy concluded that the strict accessibility standards required by SA Government were not being delivered and our services to adapt the designs to suit were both offered and accepted by the client.

With style sheets created on the fly during the web development phase, multiple versions were sent to the external form builders as new styles were created allowing the form team to work simultaneously with our web dev team, shortening the end deadline.

Uploading of the following day’s ‘upcoming hearings’ was made easier by the facilitation of a single spreadsheet upload area where the client could upload multiple sessions with a single click. The site would take the required fields and automatically populate the page.

High level search was added to the site allowing the user to easily find a particular document amongst the large database of information offered in the forms section.
